Do you know the Best University in the World? (2020)

The British consultancy Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) recently published the 2020 update to QS World University Ranking. Using indexes such as number of citations, academic reputation and reputation of teachers, the ranking is published annually by the British. According to the consultancy, “the tenth edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject has revealed that the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) still dominates the higher education space”.

QS develops and successfully implements methods of comparative data collection and analysis used to highlight institutions’ strengths. Conducting its first industry-leading research in 1990 when it commissioned a global survey of MBA employers, the QS Rankings® launched in 2004 and is now the most established research project operated by the company.

The MIT received a No. 1 ranking in the following QS subject areas: Architecture/Built Environment; Chemistry; Computer Science and Information Systems; Chemical Engineering; Civil and Structural Engineering; Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering; Linguistics; Materials Science; Mathematics; Physics and Astronomy; and Statistics and Operational Research.

MIT has been ranked as the No. 1 university in the world by QS World University Rankings for eight straight years.

The top 3 in the World University Ranking QS also includes courses at Stanford University, placed in second place followed by the Harvard University.

MIT tops 12 subject tables, while Harvard University follows closely behind with the top spot in 11 subject tables and University of Oxford leads eight subject tables.
